Proves a critical NO-GO: the positivity of the raw normalized palinstrophy is not by itself sufficient to yield a same-source finite-budget contradiction; identifies the diffusive Batchelor branch as a legitimate strain–diffusion balance rather than a defect, and proves Wasserstein contraction and uniqueness for the recurring Gaussian profile.
