The Clay Mathematics Institute Millennium Prize Problems
The Clay Mathematics Institute's seven Millennium Prize Problems (announced 2000, one million USD each) are widely regarded as the seven most important open problems in contemporary mathematics — the Poincaré Conjecture was proven by Grigori Perelman in 2003; the other six remain open. AMRAL currently runs independent research lines on five of them; Yang–Mills has not been started; Poincaré is solved and out of this site's scope.
