## Round 65 — Pure Continuous Banded A-Posteriori Validation / Viscosity Threshold $10^{-6}$

- Date: 2026-08-18
- Version: v0.1
- Status: Proof-Route Experiment / Continuous-Only Validated Parameter Extension
- Previous Round: Round 64 — Validated Viscosity Half-Line
- canonical math delimiters: inline `$...$`; display `$$...$$`

## 0. Conclusion First

Round 64 has proved:

$$
a_{3,\pm}(\nu)>0
\qquad
\forall\nu\ge10^{-4}.
$$

Round 65 seals two more decades using the new **banded a-posteriori residual certificate**:

$$
10^{-5}\le\nu\le10^{-4},
$$

and

$$
10^{-6}\le\nu\le10^{-5}.
$$

Therefore:

$$
\boxed{
a_{3,\pm}(\nu)>0
\qquad
\forall\nu\ge10^{-6}.
}
$$

Combined with the exact same-sign Fredholm pairing from Round 55, the full second-order analytic hidden rescue of the two $\sqrt{17}$ source-hidden circles is ruled out for all

$$
\boxed{
\nu\ge10^{-6}.
}
$$

---

## 1. Why Change the Certificate Engine

The mathematical framework of Round 64 can actually be pushed to even smaller viscosities:

$$
q_n(K,\nu)
=
q_n(K,1)/\nu,
\qquad
q_n\sim K/(2\nu n^2).
$$

However, under a fixed contraction margin, the raw-tail cutoff requires:

$$
N_{\rm tail}\asymp\nu^{-1/2}.
$$

The high-precision interval residual in Round 64 was audited using the full interval product of the dense inverse; when $N$ is increased from $250$ to over a thousand, the verification cost becomes a bottleneck faster than the mathematics itself.

Round 65 utilizes the fact that each row of the original recurrence contains only:

$$
n-2,\ n,\ n+1,\ n+2,\ n+4
$$

five shifts, transforming the inverse residual into a **banded a-posteriori validation**.

---

## 2. Principle of Arbitrary Approximate Inverse

At the center $\nu_c$ of the viscosity chunk, let:

$$
M_c=M_N(\nu_c).
$$

The numerical program provides an IEEE double matrix $R$.

We do not assume that $R$ is the true inverse.

We only verify:

$$
\eta
=
\|I-RM_c\|_\infty
<1.
$$

Then:

$$
M_c^{-1}
=
(I-E)^{-1}R,
\qquad
E=I-RM_c,
$$

and we have:

$$
\|M_c^{-1}\|_\infty
\le
\frac{\|R\|_\infty}{1-\eta}.
$$

Therefore, LAPACK is only responsible for providing the preconditioner; correctness is determined by the residual certificate.

---

## 3. Banded Residual Bound

Write the exact interval matrix as:

$$
M_c
=
\widehat M_c+\Delta M_c.
$$

Then:

$$
\|I-RM_c\|_\infty
\le
\|I-R\widehat M_c\|_\infty
+
\||R||\Delta M_c|\|_\infty.
$$

Since each column contains only a fixed number of non-zero terms, each entry of $R\widehat M_c$ requires only a fixed number of effective multiply-add operations.

Round 65 additionally incorporates the IEEE-$754$ error model:

$$
\gamma_k
=
\frac{ku}{1-ku},
\qquad
u=2^{-53},
$$

while simultaneously incorporating:

1. outward interval coefficient radius;
2. midpoint multiply/subtract rounding;
3. row-sum rounding;

all into $\eta$.

Thus, the newly added proof is not a standard double scan.

---

## 4. Parameter Intervals Remain Continuous

Each decade uses exact rational endpoints, with a ratio of:

$$
3/2.
$$

For example, the first new chunk is exactly:

$$
\left[
10^{-6},
\frac32\,10^{-6}
\right].
$$

For:

$$
|\nu-\nu_c|\le h,
$$

using:

$$
M_N(\nu)
=
M_c
+
(\nu-\nu_c)M_{N,1},
$$

and:

$$
B_c=M_c^{-1}M_{N,1}.
$$

If:

$$
\rho=h\|B_c\|_\infty<1,
$$

then the inverse, core solution, and core-to-tail map of the entire viscosity chunk are bounded by the same set of Neumann bounds.

---

## 5. Infinite Tail Remains Untruncated

Outside the finite core remains an infinite sequence.

Round 56 has rigorously proved:

$$
q_n(K,\nu)
=
q_n(K,1)/\nu,
$$

and for:

$$
n\ge6
$$

it monotonically decreases with $n$.

So we only need to check at the cutoff $N$:

$$
q_N.
$$

Then incorporate the feedback from the last few core rows to the tail:

$$
\widehat q
=
q_N(1+L_{\rm bd}).
$$

When:

$$
\widehat q<1,
$$

the tail fixed point is uniquely determined by Banach contraction.

Therefore, $N=900$ and $2800$ are merely validation charts, not proof closures.

---

## 6. New Decade A: $10^{-5}$ to $10^{-4}$

Using:

$$
\boxed{N=900}.
$$

Worst chunk:

$$
\boxed{
[10^{-5},1.5\times10^{-5}].
}
$$

Conservative lower bounds:

$$
\boxed{
a_{3,-}>2.1106985\times10^{-5},
}
$$

$$
\boxed{
a_{3,+}>3.4956748\times10^{-5}.
}
$$

The worst infinite-tail feedback of the large fibre is still only:

$$
\widehat q<0.543.
$$

---

## 7. New Decade B: $10^{-6}$ to $10^{-5}$

Using:

$$
\boxed{N=2800}.
$$

Worst chunk:

$$
\boxed{
[10^{-6},1.5\times10^{-6}].
}
$$

Conservative lower bounds:

$$
\boxed{
a_{3,-}>2.0905497\times10^{-6},
}
$$

$$
\boxed{
a_{3,+}>3.4690773\times10^{-6}.
}
$$

where the more difficult large fibre still satisfies:

$$
\boxed{
\widehat q<0.566.
}
$$

So the tail correction still has a large margin before losing contraction.

---

## 8. Approximate-Inverse Margins

In the most difficult new chunk:

### Small Fibre

$$
\eta_-<4.0\times10^{-13}.
$$

### Large Fibre

$$
\eta_+<1.3\times10^{-12}.
$$

And the viscosity-resolvent parameter remains approximately:

$$
\rho_\pm<0.400.
$$

So currently we do not observe any finite-core Fredholm degeneration; the difficulty stems solely from the outward shift of the raw-tail cutoff.

---

## 9. Merging with Round 64

Round 64:

$$
a_{3,\pm}(\nu)>0
\qquad
\nu\ge10^{-4}.
$$

Round 65:

$$
a_{3,\pm}(\nu)>0
\qquad
10^{-6}\le\nu\le10^{-4}.
$$

Thus:

$$
\boxed{
a_{3,\pm}(\nu)>0
\qquad
\forall\nu\ge10^{-6}.
}
$$

There is no need to assume continuity at the splicing point, because the certificates on both sides directly cover the exact endpoints.

---

## 10. Fredholm Consequence

Round 55:

$$
\langle\psi_+,g\rangle
=
g_0(\nu)
+
a_3(\nu)G_{-3},
$$

and:

$$
\operatorname{sign}g_0
=
\operatorname{sign}G_{-3}.
$$

Therefore:

$$
a_3(\nu)>0
\Longrightarrow
\langle\psi_+,g\rangle\ne0.
$$

So:

$$
\boxed{
g
\notin
\mathscr S(\ker_{\rm an}\mathscr N)
\qquad
\forall\nu\ge10^{-6}.
}
$$

That is, the two source-hidden circles cannot escape via full analytic second-order hidden correction throughout this entire viscosity segment.

---

## 11. Remaining Viscosity Strip

The only unproved positive-viscosity interval now is:

$$
\boxed{
0<\nu<10^{-6}.
}
$$

Round 59 has simultaneously rigorously proved at the other end:

$$
c_{0,-}>5.79,
\qquad
c_{0,+}>5.33
$$

at the singular endpoint $\nu=0$.

So the viscosity direction has become:

$$
\boxed{
\text{rigorous endpoint}
\quad|\quad
(0,10^{-6})\ {\rm open}
\quad|\quad
[10^{-6},\infty)\ {\rm rigorous}.
}
$$

---

## 12. Why the Next Round Will Not Brute-Force Increase Dense $N$

The raw-tail certificate requires:

$$
N\asymp\nu^{-1/2}.
$$

While the dense approximate inverse memory is:

$$
O(N^2)
=
O(\nu^{-1}).
$$

If we continue to:

$$
\nu\sim10^{-7},
$$

the comfortable cutoff for the large fibre approaches:

$$
N\sim10^4.
$$

A $10^4\times10^4$ double matrix itself is nearly $0.8$ GB, and the actual certificate requires multiple working matrices.

This is not a mathematical obstruction, but rather the dense-certificate architecture reaching its limit.

---

## 13. Certificate Engineering Conclusion of Round 65

Round 65 has eliminated the previous bottleneck:

$$
\boxed{
\text{full dense high-precision residual audit}
}
$$

The cutoff is raised from:

$$
250
$$

to:

$$
2800
$$

while still allowing practical validation.

The next bottleneck is only:

$$
\boxed{
\text{dense approximate inverse storage}.
}
$$

This should precisely be taken over by the:

$$
\text{Fast-Difference Schur}
\to
\text{Slow Riccati/Jost}
$$

fixed-size block certificate established in Rounds 60–63.

---

## 14. STOP-C69

$$
\boxed{
\begin{aligned}
\text{STOP-C69}
=
\text{Microscopic Viscosity Strip / Block-Riccati Certificate Gap}.
\end{aligned}
}
$$

Currently:

$$
\boxed{
\begin{aligned}
a_{3,\pm}(\nu)&>0
&&
\forall\nu\ge10^{-6},
\\
\text{remaining viscosity strip}
&=
(0,10^{-6}),
\\
\text{residual-validation scaling}
&=
\text{solved},
\\
\text{dense inverse storage}
&=
\text{remaining computational bottleneck},
\\
T_{\mathsf C\to\mathsf D}
&=
\mathrm{NOT\ REACHED}.
\end{aligned}
}
$$

## 16. Next Round

### Block Riccati / Final Microscopic Viscosity Strip

The next round will no longer allocate a dense inverse of $N\sim10^4$.

Objectives:

1. Retain the exact banded recurrence;
2. Rewrite the finite-core Dirichlet-to-Neumann map into a fixed-size block Schur / Riccati flow;
3. Directly use the Fast-Difference Schur inverse rigorously established in Round 63;
4. Certify further to the left under $O(N)$ memory:
   $$
   [10^{-7},10^{-6}],
   $$
   $$
   [10^{-8},10^{-7}];
   $$
5. Simultaneously connect the Round 59 endpoint Green functional to the block-Riccati limit;
6. Ultimately attempt to remove the viscosity parameter from this escape branch entirely.

---

## 17. External Primary-Source Context

A fresh literature search before this round found an adjacent hydrodynamic precedent: Latushkin–Vasudevan relate Fredholm determinants, Jost/Evans functions, and forward/backward continued fractions for a difference equation arising from 2D Euler. This supports the next step of replacing the continuously growing dense finite section with a fixed-size Riccati / continued-fraction representation.

Additionally, singularly perturbed Riccati equations have exact-WKB existence/uniqueness frameworks, making them suitable as the methodological background for the final endpoint bridge.

These serve only as framework anchors; the NS-specific coefficients, interval bounds, and viscosity theorem of Round 65 all stem from internal derivations and certificates within this series.
