# 00 | Phase 1 Consensus Verdict

## Verdict

$$
\boxed{
\text{PASS: The Banwait–Huang approach can be engineered.}
}
$$

Rather than merely stating "there exist infinitely many twists," it divides the theorem hypotheses into:

1. the eligibility of the base curve $E$;
2. the eligibility of the twist parameter $d$;
3. the independent verification of $\operatorname{BSD}(E,2)$;
4. the branch-specific Chebotarev / splitting conditions.

This is highly suitable for:

```text
Theorem
→ Predicate
→ Evidence source
→ Certificate
→ Pass / Fail / Open
```

# Minimal Reproduction Achieved in This Round

We did not pretend to rerun 500K curves in an environment lacking a SageMath / LMFDB backend.

Instead, we first reproduced the two most isolable branches of Algorithm 2.

## CLZ20 branch

$$
46a1:
\quad
E=[1,-1,0,-10,-12],
\qquad
N=46.
$$

Over the range:

$$
1\le d\le1000
$$

we obtain:

$$
[1,185,265,305,745,785,905].
$$

## Zha16 branch

$$
106d1:
\quad
E=[1,1,0,-27,-67],
\qquad
N=106.
$$

Over the range:

$$
-1000\le d\le1000
$$

we obtain:

$$
[1,17,89,97,113,241,281,409,473,505,521,545,577,649,673,713,785,857,865,929,937].
$$

Both perfectly match the official repository fixtures.

# Why is this not a proof of BSD?

The pure Python mirror only verifies:

> Assuming the base curve has already passed Algorithm 1, whether $d$ satisfies the explicit arithmetic conditions listed in Theorem 2.18.

The true strength of the theorem still comes from:

- Cai–Li–Zhai;
- Zhai;
- Banwait–Huang's combined theorem;
- the descent certificate for $\operatorname{BSD}(E,2)$;
- the analytic rank, optimality, ramification, and isogeny data of the base curve.

Therefore, the output should be read as:

```text
admissible according to theorem criteria
```

rather than:

```text
BSD independently proved from elementary computation
```

# Next Phase

Phase 1 v0.2 should perform the following in a local Sage / LMFDB environment:

1. a complete rerun of all curves with official conductor $<150$;
2. the intermediate counts for each filter in Algorithm 1;
3. the 2-descent pass/fail certificates;
4. a full diff of the official 12 curves and the twist JSON;
5. further expansion to conductor $<500000$.
